It is not surprising that chiropractic is the third most common health profession in the world. Why….. Because:

Until recently, researchers believed that back pain “cured” themselves, unfortunately is not the case. A recent study has shown that when back pain is not treated, the pain may temporarily disappear, but will return more than likely and with more intensity. The answer to the question is thus: no! Not long term.

1) Do not lift anything while leaning forward. It is better to bend the hips and knees and squat to pick up or lift an object.
2) Always keep your back straight and keep the load as close to the body as possible.
3) Do not rotate your trunk while lifting an object.
4) Push rather than pull when you need to move heavy objects.
5) If you have to sit for long periods, take frequent breaks, stretch and get up if possible.
6) Exercise regularly. A sedentary lifestyle contributes to back pain.
Inform your chiropractor if you experience any of the following:
1) A pain that descends towards one or both legs.
2) Numbness in the legs, feet or groin.
3) Pains aggravated by standing and / or sitting
4) The presence of nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or weakness.
5) Diarrhea or frequent constipation.
6) For women, back pain during menstruation, abnormally heavy losses or irregular periods.
7) Any other symptoms out of the ordinary.
